You'll spend your days supporting the kitchen team, working the line and helping keep things running smoothly from prep to service. It's fast-paced and hands-on; there's always something to jump into. As a Lead Cook, you can switch gears quickly, stay organized, and keep a cool head when things get busy. You lead by example, support the crew, and take pride in sending out great food, every time.</p><p><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b></p><ul><li>Train and onboard new team members across all kitchen stations.</li><li>Teach food safety, kitchen systems, and best practices.</li><li>Support ordering, inventory, scheduling, and prep planning.</li><li>Help maintain kitchen processes, procedures, and training resources.</li><li>Keep communication clear and organized across shifts.</li><li>Lead the team during shifts and support day-to-day operations.</li><li>Coach, develop, and support team members.</li><li>Assist with menu development, testing, and improvements.</li><li>Complete prep, quality checks, and food safety tasks.</li><li>Manage inventory and help minimize waste.</li><li>Work closely with the café team to deliver a great guest experience.</li></ul><p><b>WHAT YOU BRING</b></p><ul><li>A genuine love of food. Period.&nbsp;</li><li>3–5 years of experience in a cook or kitchen leadership role, ideally in a high-volume environment.</li><li>Ability to lead, train, and support a kitchen team in a calm, respectful, and organized way.</li><li>Strong understanding and ability to perform food preparation, recipe execution, and quality control.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with ordering, inventory management, waste reduction, and food cost awareness</li><li>Culinary diploma or formal culinary training is an asset.</li><li>Food Safe Level 1 or Level 2 certification is an asset. Support to obtain certification can be provided if needed. Practical knowledge of food safety standards in a commercial kitchen is required.&nbsp;</li><li>Strong administrative skills, including navigating inventory platforms and MS Office.</li><li>Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Legally eligible to work in Canada.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><b>THE DETAILS</b></p><ul><li>This is an on-site position located in Invermere, BC.&nbsp;</li><li>This is a full-time, permanent position, working an average of 32-40 hours per week with a paid half-hour lunch on 8-hour shifts. We will also consider candidates looking for part-time work – don’t let this stop you from applying!&nbsp;</li><li>The hourly rate for this role ranges from $26.75 - $29.77 per hour, depending on experience, and is eligible for tips.&nbsp;</li><li>Shifts can start as early as 7AM and run as late as4:30 PM.&nbsp;</li><li>Our Café is open seven days a week during the summer, with days off occurring during the week. You’ll be hands on with the equipment that roasts, grinds and packages Canada’s #1 whole bean coffee. When things break, you fix them. When they slow down, you make them better. You don’t patch problems, you solve them. It’s physical, technical and sometimes unpredictable. Not everything goes according to plan. That’s where you come in.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment across roasting, packaging, and facility systems.</li><li>Install, modify, and upgrade machinery to improve performance and reliability.</li><li>Work closely with production teams to keep equipment running efficiently and minimize downtime.</li><li>Plan and complete preventative maintenance in line with our PM Program. </li><li>Track and manage spare parts and critical inventory.</li><li>Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement long-term fixes (not band-aids).</li><li>Support continuous improvement and lean initiatives to improve flow and reduce waste.</li><li>Work collaboratively with teammates, cross-functional partners, and external contractors.</li><li>Mentor and support apprentices and developing technicians.</li><li>Accurately document work, issues, and improvements.</li><li>Follow all health, safety, and quality program requirements.</li></ul><p><b>WHAT YOU BRING</b></p><ul><li>Physical ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs (with help from the team), lifting, pushing, twisting and bending on a manufacturing line, up to 8 hours per shift.</li><li>Ticketed Electrician with at least 2+ years of experience working with industrial equipment. </li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with root cause analysis. </li><li>Experience working with mechanical systems such as vacuums, blowers, chain-veys, gearboxes and scales. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret schematics (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical control systems).</li><li>Familiarity with HMI, VFDs, and PLC fundamentals. </li><li>A logical step-by-step approach to diagnosing and fixing problems.</li><li>Clear communication – able to translate technical issues into straightforward language.</li><li>Basic computer skills (Office 365); experience documenting and tracking issues. </li><li>Certifications such as WHIMIS, Forklift, Fall-Arrest, Confined Space, Lockout/ Tagout, or Rigging &amp; Hoisting are required (training provided if you don’t already have them). </li><li>Willingness to wear required PPE, including respirators. </li><li>Legally entitled to work in Canada.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><b>THE DETAILS</b></p><ul><li>This is an on-site position located in Invermere, BC.</li><li>This is a full-time, permanent position in our Maintenance department. There are two positions open to fill the following shifts: <ul><li>Sunday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday working 4-10 hour days</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>The hourly rate for this role is $39.72. Eligible overnight shifts receive a 15% premium on top of their base wage. You’ll be involved in every step of the process from preparing green beans to roasting and packaging the finished product. You’ll learn what premium quality looks, smells and tastes like and will work to uphold those standards. This work can be repetitive and physically demanding. It’s not for everyone. But it might be for you.&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Follow standard operating procedures and departmental checklists to roast, bag and box our beans. </li><li>Operate roasting and packaging equipment using HMI touch screen. </li><li>Roast coffee, following clear recipes and roast profiles. </li><li>Pack, inspect, bag, and box coffee, inspecting all finished products to ensure quality control standards are being met. </li><li>Perform basic troubleshooting on some equipment and working alongside our Maintenance team.</li><li>Safely transport coffee beans throughout our facility, via forklift.&nbsp; </li><li>Perform daily clean-ups and room preparations including hoppers, pipes, de-stoners, bins and silos. </li><li>Enter data into ERP software, tracking coffee information and recipes, allocating materials and maintaining inventory. </li><li>Follow all health and safety and quality program policies and procedures.</li><li>Participate in Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives.</li><li>Cross train across plant operation areas from roasting, to packing, to warehousing.</li></ul><p><b>WHAT YOU BRING</b></p><ul><li>Physical ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs (with help from the team), lifting, pushing, twisting and bending on a manufacturing line, up to 8 hours per shift.</li><li>Basic computer skills and data entry experience is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel is an asset.
