• Take on a Senior role within our small but mighty Accounting & Finance team, mentoring and supporting team members
• Build deep knowledge of our ERP system, supporting GL structure, departments, and accounting configurations
• Act as the accounting expert on projects, making sure financial considerations are baked into workflows before anyone says, “Can we just expense it?”
• Identify and lead process improvements that replace clunky workarounds with systems that actually work (RIP mystery spreadsheets).
• Partner closely with the Director, Finance & Accounting on monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting as both a separate legal entity but also part of a wider organization
• Have a good working understanding of our AP and AR functions to assist where needed and support the team
• Support banking processes including payments and reconciliations.

• Run the internal monthend close and ensure deadlines are consistently met. You’re cool, calm, and collected, even when the calendar looks otherwise.
• Prepare and review reconciliations including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.
• Distribute monthly departmental financials, translating numbers into insights without inducing spreadsheet panic.
• Oversee expense management through Concur and gently remind folks that receipts are not optional.
• Own the corporate credit card program including reconciliation and reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

• Support group reporting through OneStream and submission to Lavazza.
• Own IFRS 16 reporting and ensure compliance.
• Lead audit coordination and handle auditor enquiries with clarity and confidence.
• Coordinate tax filings and indirect tax submissions.
• Support insurance renewals and compliance reporting.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or related field.
• CPA designation or working toward completion.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Comfortable working with ERP systems.
• Experience in a group or subsidiary environment is an ASS-et.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Create an exceptional experience for all our Café guests, while working with people who love what they do. Your day-to-day will involve crafting quality beverages, running the register, restocking merch, and clearing tables. This is our signature café – there’s no other like it. It only makes sense that our customer service is at the same level of legendary, which is why you’ll be providing a kick-ass experience to everyone who walks through our doors. In a nutshell, yeah, you’ll be making delicious coffee… but you’ll also be creating a one-of-a-kind experience that warms hearts and blows minds. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offer outstanding customer service with a strong focus on prioritizing the guest experience through connection, hospitality, and great coffee.
• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and espresso beverages to café standards, ensuring consistency, quality, and speed.
• Run food and drinks to tables when needed, ensuring orders are delivered accurately and efficiently.
• Support smooth café operations by clearing tables, stocking the food display, and assisting customers as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café, including washing dishes, keeping tools and ingredients clean and organized, and managing garbage and recycling.
• Restock fridges, syrups, merchandise, the condiment bar, grab-and-go fridge, and other supplies as needed.
• Anticipate café and guest needs by staying aware of your surroundings and responding to customer requests or questions.
• Participate in ongoing training and taste testing to build product knowledge and continuously develop barista skills.
• Keep all workspaces clean and organized, including both indoor café areas and the patio, and communicate proactively when supplies are running low.
• Follow Kicking Horse Coffee’s operational procedures for food handling, cash handling, beverage preparation, and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS 

MUST HAVES:

• Previous food and beverage experience (café, restaurant, or similar environment)
• Love for coffee. If you aren’t keen to make a mean cup of joe or learn about all things coffee, this may not be for you.
• Love for people. You create real connections with people.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to keep pace in a quick-moving, team-focused environment. 
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

ASSETS:

• Food Safe Level 1 or 2 certification. 
• Coffee education, including latte art, brewing methods, espresso calibrations, and knowledge of flavour profiles. 
• Point of sale systems and cash handling experience. 

SCHEUDLING & WAGE

This is an on-site position located in Invermere, BC. The Café operates seven days a week in the summer and five days a week outside of the summer months. Scheduling requirements include weekends and statutory holidays. We currently have permanent positions available, offering full-time hours. The wage for this role ranges from $19.00 - $23.64 per hour (depending on experience) and is eligible for tips.

WHAT WILL YOU DO? 

You are part of our on-call crew that supports our production crew, roasting and packaging our kick-ass beans. With a strong commitment to safety and quality, you will pack, inspect, box and prepare to ship the best beans in the country. In the roasting room, you will support set up, equipment cleaning and keep an eye on green bean quality. You’ll also be a chauffeur to our beans, transporting them between our roasting room and packaging machines. This work can be repetitive and physically demanding but that’s not all. Our crew likes to learn, and you will have the opportunity to learn and grow across the spectrum of coffee production activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging

• Follow standard operating procedures to bag and box our beans.
• Inspect all finished products to ensure quality control standards are being met.
• Perform daily clean-ups and room preparations.
• Special project tasks as assigned.
  

Roasting

• Prep the roasting room for production according to the daily roast list.
• Manually load green beans into roasting hoppers, ensuring precise recipe compliance.
• Transport roasted beans from roasting to packaging, ensuring accurate labelling.
• Weigh and enter roasted coffee info to our ERP system.
• Perform daily clean-ups and room preparations.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Physical ability to lift up to 25-50 lbs (with help from the team), lifting, pushing, twisting and bending on a manufacturing line, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Basic computer skills and data entry experience is required. Experience using Microsoft Excel is an asset. Open to learning and developing new skills is a must!
• Possess a good understanding of workplace safety and willingness to learn and follow policies, procedures, and standard work instructions. 
• Forklift operator certificate or a willingness to obtain.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
